COVINGTON, Ga. - According to an update from the Covington Police Department Tuesday morning, Officer Matt Cooper is still in serious condition at WellStar Atlanta Medical Center. 

"Officer Cooper will be evaluated again this morning by a vascualr surgeon to prepare for a proceedusre to remove the bullet," the update read. "The bullet is lodged at his Carotid artery.

"His vital signs are strong. Matt Cooper is strong! He is a fighter! Please continue to pray for the Cooper family."
