MACON, Ga. (AP) — A middle Georgia man has pleaded guilty to fatally shooting his wife of 19 days.

Marcus Donnell Hoskins was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole Monday in the death of 37-year-old Danielle Hoskins.

Authorities have said the woman was shot in a wooded area after the couple visited relatives in a metro Atlanta hospital in January 2013.

Investigators have said the shooting may have stemmed from a disagreement over marital issues, and Hoskins pulled a gun on his wife and forced her to drive to a wooded area during the drive back.

Sheriff's officials have said Hoskins called them after the shooting and led authorities to the woman's body.

Hoskins was charged with murder, kidnapping and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
