Learning about dogs

Students in Ms. Elizabeth Davis' English/language arts class recently read the novel, "The Last Dog on Earth" by Daniel Ehrenhaft. As part of their assessment, students picked a particular breed of dog, researched characteristics and grooming tips, and produced a visual representation of their dog. Fifteen Piedmont staff members served as distinguished judges and awarded certificates in the following categories: Best of Show, Honorable Mention, Most Creative and Most Realistic.
Pictured with their "dog" in the front row include Madison Burnham - Chow; Morgan Johnston - Toy Poodle; Ashley Johnston - Yorkie; Cheyenne Miller - Kelpie. (Back row): Haley Edwards - Shih Tzu; Will Mack Tillman - Dachshund; Joseph Anderson - Jack Russell Terrier; Michael Edwards - Rottweiler; Wyatt Galloway - Husky; Ms. Elizabeth Davis; Tyler Mills - Black Labrador and Mack Brady - Basset Hound.
