Covington Ford wants to get the word out that it sells top-of-the-line quality cars, just as good and even better than Toyota and Honda.

"Ford quality is the best out there," General Manager Matt Crowe said. "I’m proud of what Ford has down the past few years to turn the company around. Ford is doing the best of the big three. We’re here and we’re solid."

Crowe said now is a great time to buy as quality goes up and prices go down. He said everything on his lot is on sale.

Crowe said Covington Ford is in better shape than many other dealerships because Crowe’s father and dealership owner Wendell Crowe has invested so much money in the past. Wendell no longer has to make payments on the lot or for the dealership — only for inventory.

Covington Ford has been in Covington since 1941 when it was located where BB&T’s parking lot is now. Matt said the store moved to its current location at 2205 Elm Street NE in 1964 and has been improving and expanding since then.

Matt said even with the tough economic times his store will continue to give back to the community. "I tip my hat to my granddad and dad, they always gave back to the community," Matt said. "My dad donates a lot of money to school and churches. He does a lot for sports programs around the area."
