The Eastside Lady Eagles (4-3, 2-1) spent the first half on their heels due to a dominating offensive attack by the Walnut Grove Lady Warriors (2-5, 1-2) Tuesday night at Homer Sharp Stadium.

The Lady Warriors sent attack after attack at the left side of Eastside's defense but outstanding defensive play, most notably by Haley Walden, Kate Nolan and keeper Jordyn Blare, kept the Lady Warriors off the scoreboard. Eastside made their limited opportunities count when Alli Coberth sent a perfect through ball to Allie Dumaine who put the ball in the back of the net with 7:43 left on the clock to give the Lady Eagles a 1-0 halftime lead.

The second half was a different story as the game opened up for the Lady Eagles. Dumaine would score her second goal less than five minutes into the final stanza off a ball from Morgan Green.

With 21:10 left Walnut Grove"s Lexie Beaulieu scored off a thru ball from Jordan Meredith to put the Lady Warriors back in it at 2-1. Eastside's Madison Morvik netted a goal with 15:20 left in the match to stretch the lead to 3-1 and Green would add the final Eastside goal of the night on a terrific shot from just outside the 18-yard box to give the Lady Eagles the 4-1 4-AAAA victory.

The boys match was a physical affair from the beginning. Neither team could net a goal in regulation or in two 5 minute overtime periods. The game had to be settled in a penalty kick shootout. Will Gregory and Billy Love were successful on their attempts and keeper Jackson Gann made a great save for Eastside (4-3, 2-1) but the Warriors (3-4, 1-2) netted three of their five attempts to take the region 4-AAAA win.
