Hurst leaving Eastside
Hurst

According to the Rome News-Tribune Eastside head football coach Rick Hurst has been named to the same position at Pepperell High School. Hurst will finish out the school year at Eastside and will begin his tenure Pepperell at the end of the school year.

Hurst had been the longest tenured head football coach in the county, serving 10 of his 21 years in coaching at Eastside.

“The committee and our school LSGT identified the qualities the Pepperell community needed in a football coach, and Rick Hurst was the right fit for the Pepperell Dragons,” Principal Phil Ray said in a press release.

Hurst led the Eagles to a 7-5 record last year, and a trip to the second round of the playoffs.
