DECATUR, Ga. (AP) — Police say a metro Atlanta man was fatally shot after meeting with two people who advertised a pit bull for sale online.

WXIA-TV reports (http://on.11alive.com/1HpYDTx ) the shooting happened early Friday at a DeKalb County address. Investigators say the victim had arranged to meet there with two men from north Georgia who posted an ad on the website Craigslist offering to sell a pit bull.

DeKalb County police Lt. Antonio Catlin says investigators are interviewing the men who posted the Craigslist and want to know why they arranged to meet in the middle of the night. He says one of the north Georgia men called 911 after the shooting.

The slain man's name was not immediately released.
