MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) — A former suburban Atlanta girls' high school track coach has been given a five year sentence for sexting a student.

Cobb County District Attorney's spokeswoman Kim Isaza says 30-year-old Ryne Thomas Thackston of Acworth coached track at North Cobb High School and was sentenced on Tuesday.

Prosecutors say it was discovered in 2013 that Thackston had sent nude images of himself to a student that he coached, and also had explicit photos of the girl on his phone.

Isaza says Thackston was sentenced to five years with two to serve in custody. He's ordered to spend three years on probation.
