Sherri Davis-Viniard, director of public relations for Newton County Schools, has been named Region 2 Director for the Georgia School Public Relations Association.

During her 10 years with the school district, she has won numerous state and local awards from the state association and the National School Public Relations Association, including the national group’s 2008 Award of Excellence for Distinguished Achievement.

She is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Covington and also serves on the Ambassador Committee for the Newton County Chamber of Commerce. Davis-Viniard is a 2002 graduate of Leadership Newton County.

Davis-Viniard will support state association members and member districts in the following Region 2 counties: Baldwin, Banks, Barrow, Clarke, Columbia, Dawson, DeKalb, Elbert, Fannin, Forsyth, Franklin, Glascock, Greene, Gwinnett, Habersham, Hall, Hancock, Hart, Henry, Jackson, Jasper, Jefferson, Jones, Lincoln, Lumpkin, Madison, McDuffie, Morgan, Newton, Oconee, Oglethorpe, Putnam, Rabun, Richmond, Rockdale, Stephens, Taliaferro, Towns, Union, Walton, Warren, Washington, White, and Wilkes.
