COVINGTON, Ga. – TheDeKalb County Police Department (DCPD), assisted by the Newton County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO), arrested a Newton County woman suspected of shooting a man in a parking lot in Tucker Tuesday morning.
According to a NCSO incident report deputies assisted with securing the Creekview Boulevard scene while detectives from DCPD with warrants arrested Tara Moody.
According to Atlanta media reports, Moody was arrested on an aggravated assault charge in the shooting of a 47-year-old Decatur man July 11 after a dispute in the parking lot of the Target store on Lavista Road. Moody is accused of shooting the man after he reportedly left his vehicle and poured a liquid first on Moody’s car, then on her.
According to the NCSO report, Moody was transported to the DeKalb County Jail by the detectives.
WSB-TV reported that Moody was granted bond by a judge Thursday morning.
The DeKalb County Police Department did not respond to The Covington News’ request for information on the arrest.
