A federal judge has postponed the criminal trial against suspended Newton County Chairman Marcello Banes and suspended District 3 Commissioner Stephanie Lindsey to April 21.In a Jan. 13 filing, Chief U.S. District Judge Leigh Martin May ordered that the trial be pushed back from its original date of Jan. 27 so that both sides can have time to prepare to address charges added in the Jan. 6 second superseding indictment.
