On Saturday, April 21 the Covington family YMCA will be hosting the 11th annual Cheerios Challenge on the square. The event will begin at 7:30 a.m. with the 10K run. The one mile fun run will begin at 9 a.m. followed by the 5K run beginning at 9:30 a.m. All races will start and finish at the Covington Family YMCA located at 2140 Newton Drive.

Citizens can pre-register up through April 13. Prices will be $15 for the 10K, $12 for the one mile fun run, $25 for the 5K, and $45 for a family of four to register together to compete in the race. After pre-registration, prices will increase to $20, $15, $35, and $60
respectively.
"There will be a $100 cash price for the first male and female to break the course records for the 10K and 5K," Brown continued.

The best time for a male running the 5K is 31 minutes and 16 seconds and for the 5K it is 14minutes and 48 seconds. Female times include a previous record of 37 minutes and 52 seconds for the 10K and 17 minutes and 15 seconds for the 5K. Prizes will be presented in other areas as well.
