City still bound under previous agreement with Ice Days, despite council vote
2024 agreement
The City of Covington and Ice Days LLC agreed to a $30,000/year contract in 2024 that included an auto-renewal clause. The city had 90 days from the end of the 2024 -25 season in order to cancel the auto-renewal. A non-renewal notice was never sent, meaning the city is still under contract with Ice Days.
COVINGTON, Ga. – Although the Covington City Council voted 4-0 to cut city funding for a popular ice skating rink, it may be too late to roll back funding for the attraction after all.
