So you think you're a grill master? Well here's a chance to prove your skills once and for all and win ultimate "Bragging Rights." The first ever "Bragging Rights" barbecue festival will be held at Olde Town Conyers this Saturday, May 31, 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Winners will be named in each of the following barbecue categories: chicken, beef brisket, pork ribs. Attendees will also be able to get in on the action and name an overall crowd winner.

Attendees will also have a scrumptious time as they'll be able to sample each contestant and enter their vote for the crowd favorite. Samples will be sold for no more than $4 a sample.

Some contestants may make side dishes as well for full plates of 'cue and sides for sale.

About three or four contestants have entered each category so far, said Black Cat Curio Co. co-owner Lindsay Moon. A panel of judges will choose the winner of each category.

"We're excited about it," said Moon. "It's been building and it's gotten bigger than we thought."

Live entertainment includes two bands, a dance troup, and vendors such as jewelry and hand-blown glass in market-style booths on the street.

Prizes will be awarded at 4:30 p.m.

Proceeds will all go to support The March of Dimes and the Rockdale County Sheriff's Office K-9 units.

This inaugural contest is sponsored by The Black Cat Curio Co., Escentually Yours, and The Celtic Tavern.
