Mr. Joe Yarbrough, 67, of Covington, Georgia, passed away Monday, Sept. 1, 2014. He was born in Porterdale on April 17, 1947 to Claude and Lillian Yarbrough, who have preceded him in death. Joe was retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad, where he worked as a switchman. He served his country in the United States Army for eight years and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Yarbrough was preceded in death by his daughter Elisha Yarbrough and wife Debbie Lynn Yarbrough.

He is survived by his children Kristy Yarbrough McDaniel of Social Circle, Joe and Rae Yarbrough of Covington and Holly and David Mackie of Woodstock along with his grandchildren Katlin McDaniel, Brandon Mackie, Megan Mackie and Kodie Yarbrough, his sister and brother-in-law Susan and Doyle Bell of Tallahassee along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family and close friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Yarbrough will be held at noon Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with Reverend Doyle Bell officiating. Interment will follow at Covington Mill Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 a.m.-funeral time on Thursday prior to the funeral service. J.C.
