Mr. Alan Grimes, 59, of Social Circle passed away Sunday, Oct. 28, 2018.  He was born March 4, 1959 in Atlanta to Reggie and Rose Mary Grimes.  

Alan was an avid collector; collecting coins, stamps, pipes, and antiques.  He grew up in Doraville, Michigan, and Conyers.  Alan was a graduate of Rockdale County High School and LaGrange College.  He worked in the HVAC industry and also was a customer service representative for Lowes Home Improvement Stores.  Alan was a faithful member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church.  

He was preceded in death by his mother Rose Mary Whitaker Grimes and is survived by his father Reggie Grimes, of Social Circle, his sister Susan Grimes, of Rural Retreat, Virginia, his brother and sister-in-law Rex and Lody Grimes, of Monroe, his nephews Chris and Mike Lott, his great nieces Annika and Alyssa along with numerous other family and close friends.  

Memorial services for Mr. Grimes was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2018 at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, 12862 US Highway 278, Social Circle, GA 30025 with the Rev. Leah Cunningham officiating.
