SOCIAL CIRCLE, Ga. (AP) — Georgia wildlife officials say archers throughout the state may begin hunting deer this weekend.

Officials from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources say hunters may begin pursuing deer with archery equipment on Saturday.

Officials say more than 118,200 archery hunters harvested 74,490 deer throughout the state last year.

Wildlife officials say hunters are allowed a season bag limit of 10 antlerless deer and two antlered deer. Hunters must have valid licenses and current deer harvest records. Licenses may be purchased online.
