Peachtree Academy celebrates Good Friday with sunrise service

COVINGTON, Ga. - Peachtree Academy students, faculty, families and community members came together on Good Friday with a sunrise service at 6:30 a.m. led by Pastor Ryan Wyatt of the 213 church. 

Wyatt shared a special message about the celebration that Christians acknowledge on Easter weekend. Attendees were challenged to recognize that when you wake up each day that God has breathed life into them and they should live life to the fullest and serve others. 

The service was followed by a student led breakfast by members of the National Honor Society.

History was made on Tuesday night when longtime Newton County Schools (NCS) employee Chandra Mitchell was named the inaugural Newton County Schools district-wide “HERO.”
