Newton County Schools will follow their early release schedule Friday, Jan. 6 due to the threat of inclement weather, according to a release from Sherri Davis-Viniard, Newton County School System director of public relations, late Thursday night.

Elementary and Newton County Theme School students will be dismissed at 11:15 a.m.; high school students will be released at 12:15 p.m. and middle school students will be dismissed at 1:15 p.m.  Lunch will be served before students are dismissed and all students who ride school buses home in the afternoons will be transported to their normal bus stops.

The school system will continue to monitor weather conditions throughout the weekend and provide updates if inclement weather impacts Monday’s schedule.
