Critter Crawl volunteers Carson Hagan and Rachel Deininger, both Oxford College of Emory University students, with a four year old American alligator which can grow to 16 feet in length. Deininger volunteered for the event because she enjoys the animals and sharing them with children. (Duane Ford | The Covington News)
About 200 people came to learn about science as well as to see and touch the animals at Oxford College of Emory University’s “critter crawl” on March 19. Sarah Fankhauser, assistant professor of biology, organized the event. Her goal was to bring science to the people of Newton County as well as to bring people to see the science that she, other professors, and students are engaged in.
