In business for 67 years, Covington Ford is one of the city of Covington’s oldest businesses and most well known car dealerships.
Located on U.S. Highway 278, Covington Ford was first opened right off of the Covington Square in 1941. The dealership is owned by Wendell Crowe whose father originally began the business.
Sammy Padgett, sales manager for Covington Ford, said the dealership has approximately 175 Ford cars and trucks in stock including 100 new vehicles.
Padgett, who has worked for the dealership for the past 10 years, said that amount of inventory is average for this time of year.
"We’ve got a full service department, body shop and parts," Padgett said.
Padgett said smaller cars with greater fuel efficiency are in high demand with customers. The Ford Focus and the Ford Fusion are especially popular he said.
The popular Focus SYNC Communications and Entertainment System is optional in the 2009 Focus SE and standard in Focus SES and SEL.
The cars’ state-of-the-art, voice-activated system integrates Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones and digital media players. The system allows you to control your entire music library of your connected MP3 player by voice.
The dealership offers Ford incentives to customers including 0 percent financing and rebates of up to $7,500.
