Range classes scheduled for Charlie Elliott Wildlife Center

Ever wanted to learn the basics relative to shooting, but not sure where to start?  The Family Day at the Range series provides a perfect opportunity, offering training courses for those that wish to learn or advance their knowledge of firearms, safety and also get the chance to shoot a variety of firearms. 

Several classes are scheduled over the next few months, including the following:

- Introduction to Shotgun (Feb. 18, 2017): Learn and practice safe shooting techniques for shotgun. This course is for individuals age 12 and up. Participants will be able to shoot various gauges. Participants will learn firearm safety, proper shooting technique, hunter education and have the opportunity to shoot clay targets. All classes begin in the Visitor Center for a firearm orientation before participants go to the range. Training course begins at 10 a.m. and will end at 3 p.m.

- Introduction to Muzzleloading (March 11, 2017): Learn and practice safe shooting techniques for muzzleloading. This course is for individuals age 10 and up. Participants will learn firearm safety, hunter education and have the opportunity to shoot. All classes begin in the Visitor Center for a firearm orientation before participants go to the range. Training course begins at 10 a.m. and will end at 3 p.m.

What do you need to do to attend? Registration is required, so call (770-784-3059) and let us know you are coming.  Event will be held rain or shine.

Charlie Elliott Wildlife Center is located near Mansfield, less than an hour southeast of Atlanta off Interstate 20.  The address is 543 Elliott Trail, Mansfield 30055.  Family Day at the Range courses all begin at the Visitor Center prior to going to the shooting range.
