Eastside wing Adriana Spears has been named the Eastside Athlete of the Week after leading the Lady Eagles with 18 points in Eastside's 68-43 victory over Walnut Grove.

Spears' total helped the Lady Eagles to their second region win with the road victory. The win also gave Eastside its ninth overall victory of the season.

Spears totaled eight points in the second quarter, finishing with 14 points in the opening half, to help Eastside to a 31-24 halftime lead.

Spears also finished with eight points against rival Newton in a 67-39 loss to the Lady Rams earlier this month.

Eastside returns to action on Friday at home, welcoming Johnson in region play at 7 p.m.

The Lady Eagles round out their weekend with a 4 p.m. contest against North Oconee on Saturday.

Eastside closes out its regular season schedule with two home games against Alcovy Feb. 1 and Madison County Feb. 4.
