New 'Kings' in town

Conyers Court Kings Owners Thomas Gates Jr. and Curtis Richardson, Head Coach Larry Nolley, Assistant Coach Eddie Gibson, League Owner Leroy McMath, players, Conyers-Rockdale Chamber of Commerce officials, and community members gather for a ribbon cutting.

The newly formed Conyers Court Kings, a part of the World Basketball Association league, held a ribbon cutting at the Conyers-Rockdale Chamber of  Commerce on June 2 to usher in the opening of their first season.

Among those present were team owners Curtis Richardson and Thomas Gates Jr., league owner Leroy McMath, Head Coach Larry Nolley, Assistant Coach Eddie Gibson, and players Ronnie Childs, Orlando Allen, Jamaal Newman, Tim Ware, Logan Peterson, Joseph Shipley.

The Kings play the Tennessee Tornadoes at JP Carr Gymnasium at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 4. Click here for more on that game.

Other home games this season include June 11 versus the Gwinnett Majic, June 18 versus the Rome Gladiators, June 25 versus the Gainesville Knights. All games start at 7 p.m.
