Newton County had an interesting night of football Friday as all three local teams played in lopsided shutouts during the last week before the playoffs begin. Eastside was the star of the show, taking down previously undefeated Monroe Area High School in dramatic fashion by winning 35-0. Newton also shut out their opponent Morrow High School by the score of 40-0, but Morrow had struggled mightily this season.
