Monday night the Oxford City Council in their opening invocation led by Hoyt Oliver asked the "Guiding Spirit" to forgive us for criticizing their decision to waste the tax dollars of the good citizens of Oxford on expensive furniture from an out-of-town vendor. We are pleased to see that the council still says a prayer to start their meetings. Political correctness these days prevents many councils and boards across the country from appealing to a higher power for guidance.
