        Mrs. Emma Lee Douglas was born January 7, 1933 in Bakers County Georgia, to the late Mr. Gertrude Anderson and Mrs. Eva Mae Anderson. At an early age, Emma and her family moved to Florida, where she met and married Mr. David Douglas, to this union, two children were born. "Emma" lived and worked in Florida for quite sometime. After leaving Florida, she moved to Chicago Heights, where she lived for a while, until she moved to Harvey, Illinois. After she retired, she moved to Covington, Georgia with her daughter.

         In her spare time she has helped many people. She has also been a mother, as well as a god-mother to an abundance of children. She received the most Outstanding Employee Award from Federal Signal and Signs. After retiring, she worked as a greeter at the Senior Citizen Complex to keep busy.

        She leaves to cherish her sweet memories, one daughter, Ms. Marva Jean Douglas, one god-daughter, Mrs. Rita Brown (Hiawatha), one sister, Ms. Hurie Mae McMillian, Winter Garden, Florida, mother-in-law, Mrs. Juanita Douglas, six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, a special niece, Ms. Shondra Anderson and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends in the Georgia, Florida and Chicago area.
