        Mr. Patrick  Arthur Benn was born on March 16, 1952 to the late Mr. Charles Henry, and  Ms. Iceni Benn. after leaving St. Aloysius Boys'  School, Patrick attended Central High School in Georgetown and Buxton Government Secondary School, before becoming a teacher in 1967 at all Saints Scotch School in New Amsterdam, Berbice.

      Patrick  was an active player in table tennis, cricket, chess and athletics during his High School years. He graduated into Politics and was a chairman for ASCRIA, Luther League and the YSM, during those years in New Amsterdam.

      In 1974, Patrick left Guyana to study in Cuba and after returning to Guyana, he migrated to the United States in 1979 where he attended both Long Island University and Pace University in NYC. In 1987 he left NYC for Georgia.

       Apart from his youthful leadership in many civic organizations in Guyana, Patrick was an outstanding, caring and generous person who cared for family and friends. His legacy will live on through his family stories told about his quick witted and loving personality.

       He will be missed by many who knew him. "Forever a soldier, son, father, friend and patriot, the one and only Patrick "Mendez" Benn.

        He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Henry Beenn, brother, Michael Benn,  grandmother, Gwendolyn Simon.
