Melvin Morgan Cainion Jr. was born on March 6, 1963, to the late Melvin (Carolyn) Cainion. Melvin departed this life on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018.

He graduated from Northeast High School in Macon. Melvin served several years in the military. He was known for his jail ministry and guidance. Melvin was a devoted member of Springfield Baptist Church until his health declined.

He is preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Gary Jackson.

Melvin leaves to cherish his love, his wife, Tracey Cainion; two daughters, Shawanda Cainion and Tawanda Cainion; one son, Craig Williams; two sisters, Rasheen Jackson and Sarah Cainion; one loving and devoted brother, Reginald Mckenzie; seven grandchildren, Mykeria, Nykendria, TaQori, Kater, Jamarion, Alexander and Skytaria; a son-in-law, Montrell Holliday, a daughter-in-law, Laheisha Richardson; two sisters-in law and four brothers-in-law, Ladd (Sandra) Green, Freddie (Alice) Freeman, Willie Benton, Chuck Williams; a special friend, Loretta Heard and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and  friends. 

The funeral began at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, at Springfield Baptist Church, at 1877 Iris Drive SE in Conyers with the Rev. Eric W. Lee, Pastor and the Rev. D’ondre Mapp officiating. Interment was at Lawnwood Memorial Park, at 111 Access Road in Covington.
