Mr. James Henderson Jr., affectionately known as Jimmy, was born June 19, 1961, to Mrs. Ruby Lee Henderson and Mr. James Henderson Jr.

He joined Murray Memorial CME Church at an early age and attended Newton County High School.

Jimmy was a hard worker. He worked for the city of Conyers for many years and also was employed with Bibb Manufacturing, John Deere, the Newton County School System and Hardeman’s Car Wash and Detailing.

On Sunday, Oct. 29, 2017, Jimmy lost a two-year battle with cancer.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, Mr. James Henderson Sr.; his sister, Ms. Jacqueline “Jackie” Marie Kelly; his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Lizzie Bell Farmer; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Viola Rosemond; and three aunts, Mrs. Mary Johnson, Mrs. Brenda Harris and Ms. Sally Ann Vining.

He left his memories to be cherished by his mother, Mrs. Ruby Lee Henderson; a devoted and special friend, Ms. Barbara Stone; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ms. Gloria Henderson and Mr. and Mrs. Frank (Bobbie Mae) Willis, all of Rochester, New York, and Mr. and Mrs. Phillip (Bobbie Ruth) King Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. Norman (Carole Elaine) Pitts, all of Covington; brother, Mr. Nolan Tuggle, of Covington; family-adopted sister, Mr. and Mrs. Ray (Thelma) Nolley; family-adopted brother, Mr. J.C. Horton Jr.; and the people who were always there whenever needed for doctor’s appointments and shopping: Mr. John Shepherd (a friend), nephew Mr. Jermile Kelly, niece Ms. Kimberly Ridley and a host of loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends — but most of all, his sister Bobbie King.

Funeral services began at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3, at Murray Memorial CME Church, 4100 West St. NW, Covington, with the Rev. Bobby J. Hall officiating.
