Covington/Newton County SWAT Team were called to a home in south Newton County Thursday afternoon after a teen wanted for robbery was reportedly holed up in a home with a shotgun.

According to Newton County Sheriff's Department 1st Lt. Mark Mitchell, deputies first located 18-year-old Ryan Peter-Horn Wednesday evening, but the young man fled before they were able to apprehend him on the outstanding robbery warrants.

The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. Thursday after the NCSO warrant division received information that Peter-Horn was at a residence in the Hunter's Trace subdivision. When they arrived at the residence, they were informed that Peter-Horn had just entered the home and was possibly armed with a shotgun.

"Based on that information, along with his warrant for robbery. the SWAT Team was called to come and handle the situation," said Mitchell.

SWAT members made entry and located Peter-Horn in the attic of the home and arrested him without incident.
In addition to his robbery charges, he is also facing obstruction charges due to the incidents Wednesday and Thursday.
