TYBEE ISLAND, Ga. (AP) — The mayor of Tybee Island says more than 800 people who signed a petition calling for a nude friendly section of beach will need to keep their clothes on as long as he's in office.

WTOC-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1xUXQ4K ) Shawn Williams of Savannah has gotten 861 people to sign his petition asking Tybee city officials to make a portion of Georgia's largest public beach clothing-optional.

Tybee Island Mayor Jason Buelterman (BELL-tuhr-man) says he's happy to talk with Williams, but his answer is simple. Buelterman says there's "no chance" Tybee will allow nudity on its beach, at least not while he's mayor.

The mayor says: "We are a family friendly beach, and we plan on keeping it that way."

Williams says he plans to keep fighting Tybee City Hall anyway.
