SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. (AP) — A metro Atlanta school that serves autistic children is without many of its supplies after thieves stole thousands of dollars in equipment with just days until classes start.
Police say they believe someone broke into the Cumberland Academy of Georgia in Sandy Springs early Monday morning.
Headmaster and school co-founder Debbi Scarborough says part of the school was ransacked, and that projectors, televisions and video game consoles were taken.
Scarborough tells WSB-TV (http://bit.ly/1MvnhTb) that the school is nonprofit and relies on the generosity of the community, so the theft is hitting hard.
