DECATUR, Ga. (AP) — Authorities say a veteran sheriff's captain is accused of using a computer to have an inappropriate relationship a 14-year-old boy.

Henry County sheriff's Capt. David McCart was apprehended Tuesday by DeKalb County police after a two-month investigation.

DeKalb County police Sgt. Torrey Kennedy tells WSB-TV that his agency was conducting a cross-country investigation with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and came into contact with a suspect later identified as McCart.

CBS 46 reports that McCart is being held on charges of computer pornography and child exploitation and faces a court hearing at 8:30 a.m. Thursday. It wasn't known whether he has a lawyer.

Henry County sheriff's officials say they're assisting DeKalb County authorities with the investigation. They say McCart was terminated when Henry County Sheriff Keith McBrayer learned of the investigation.
