ATLANTA (AP) — Presidential candidate Marco Rubio is slated to address Georgia Republicans at the party's state convention next month.

The state party announced Wednesday that Rubio, a Florida senator, will address the convention on May 15. Rubio's campaign confirmed the appearance.

Rubio is one of three Republican senators to formally enter the presidential race, but the field is expected to get more crowded.

Georgia Republican officials are hoping more presidential prospects will attend the two-day state convention in Athens. Attendees also will elect state party leaders and consider resolutions.
