ATLANTA - Police are trying to determine if a collision on a southwest Atlanta street and some nearby gunshots that left one person dead are related.

Officers told WSB-TV that someone called 911 Thursday night to report multiple gunshots and that two cars collided moments later.

Atlanta police Lt. Paul Guerrucci says officers arrived to find one man dead behind a house. He says one person who was wounded was inside one of the cars, and another person told police he was walking down the street when he was hit by a stray bullet.

Police say several other people in the cars also were injured.

Guerrucci says there's a possibility that the shootings and the wreck are related.
