ATHENS, Ga. (AP) - Police say a group of thieves swarmed a farmers market in northeast Georgia, where they distracted the owners and got away with $8,000 from a money drawer.

Athens-Clarke police say the theft happened Monday afternoon at the market on Danielsville Road.

The Athens Banner-Herald reports (http://bit.ly/pTCeJW) that five suspects were involved. Four of them were described as being in their 20s or 30s, and the fifth man is older. Police said they left in a four-door Dodge pickup with some type of decoration on the grill and pulling a trailer with a toolbox.

Workers at the farmers market said the men appeared to be professional thieves who used "slick" talk while distracting them.
