AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) — Authorities are investigating the gunshot killing of a man in Richmond County.

Richmond County sheriff's officials say the man was shot to death on Carrie Street late Sunday.

Deputies called to the address found 29-year-old Quintroy Roberts with a gunshot wound to the head. The Augusta Chronicle reports (http://bit.ly/1tB6684) that Roberts was pronounced dead at 12:03 a.m. Monday.

Nearby resident Chavious Kemmerlin tells the Augusta newspaper that he heard about three shots.

An autopsy is expected to take place at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation crime lab in Atlanta early this week.

Few other details were available early Monday.
