TLANTA (AP) — Democrat Michelle Nunn is set to report raising just over $4 million in the last three months, her strongest quarter to date as she battles Republican businessman David Perdue for Georgia's open Senate seat.

Nunn said in a statement Monday she was "proud to stand with the tens of thousands of Georgians" who have volunteered, organized house parties and invested money into her campaign.

The Nunn campaign didn't release how much cash she has going into the final stretch before the Nov. 4 election.

Perdue has yet to release his latest fundraising totals, which are due Wednesday.

The race has gained national attention as Republicans look to take control of the Senate and can't afford to lose the Georgia seat. Democrats consider Nunn among their best recruits this year.
