ATLANTA (AP) — Officials say a hairless cat has gone missing at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
WSB-TV (http://bit.ly/1FK65Sv ) reports the cat was lost while being transported on a Delta Airlines flight Thursday around 7 a.m.
The animal's owners say they bought the hairless peterbald kitten named Rudy from a breeder in Canada. The kitten was being transported to its new family for the first time.
Rudy's cage broke open, and the kitten escaped into the cargo area.
A representative for Delta Airlines said an active search is underway and the airline is looking into what went wrong.
The family is offering a $1,000 reward for the cat's recovery.
