Group wants Marine flag removed

MILTON, Ga. - A man whose son serves in the U.S. Marine Corps put a Marine flag in a window of his home in a Milton subdivision, but the homeowner's association objected to the display after they said people had complained about a "towel."

John and Rosana Klein said they got a notice from the association shortly after they hung the flag in the Avensong subdivision north of Atlanta.

After Klein told the HOA it was a Marine flag and not a towel, the group told him to remove it from the window and put it in a proper flag holder.

Klein said he decided to remove the flag instead of paying a daily $25 fine. Avensong Community Association president Alan Tart later said the association decided not to fine the family.
