ATLANTA (AP) — Georgia Department of Transportation officials say construction lane closures will be suspended during the holiday weekend.
Officials say GDOT is suspending lane closures on interstates and major state routes between noon Thursday and 5 a.m. Monday to offset predicted heavy traffic.
GDOT officials say the suspended lane closures will not include emergency lane closures that may be necessary.
Crews may still be working near highways and drivers are asked to exercise caution and obey posted speed limit signs.
