ATLANTA (AP) — The Georgia Department of Driver Services is reminding veterans to take advantage of several special services the agency offers to military personnel as Veterans Day approaches.

Officials say veterans and active military personnel are offered special licensing and testing services throughout the year.

Officials say the department offers free licenses and IDs, specially designed patriotic licenses and the troops to truck program, which expedites the commercial driver's license process for military personnel.

Department officials say Fort Benning is also home to the agency's first customer service center located on a military base and serves roughly 120,000 military members, reservists, retirees and civilians.
