Fire in large barn kills at least 4 horses, cow
DECATUR, Ga. (AP) — Authorities say a fire in a large barn outside Atlanta claimed the lives of at least four horses and a cow.
DeKalb County authorities say the animals were killed after a fire broke out around 3:30 a.m. in the barn behind a home near the DeKalb-Clayton county line.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports (http://on-ajc.com/1H97SVp) that firefighters from both counties responded to the blaze.
DeKalb fire Capt. Eric Jackson said fire crews found the bodies of four horses and a cow after the flames were knocked down. Jackson said authorities do not yet know how the fire started.
