MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) — Police say concrete chunks raining onto a metro Atlanta freeway caused multiple wrecks before rush hour.
WSB-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1MKsgBI ) the falling concrete early Friday morning was caused by a crane that struck an overpass on Interstate 285 in Cobb County. The debris was blamed for several accidents, but police say no injuries were reported.
Northbound lanes of the interstate were closed at about 6:10 a.m. for about 10 minutes. Some lanes remained closed heading into rush hour as crews worked to clear the concrete debris and cars that had been damaged.
