DECATUR, Ga. (AP) — Police say a metro Atlanta man was fatally shot as he tried to rob a bulldog breeder he had contacted through the website Craigslist.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports (http://on-ajc.com/1zGdq93 ) DeKalb County police have linked the dead man to at least four other cases in which people trying to sell items online were robbed.

Police say the man, whose name has not been released, was killed early Friday by one of two men from Winder who thought they were selling him an English Bulldog.

Dog breeder Walter Gonzalez told police he got out of the car and a man standing outside a home drew a gun on him. Gonzalez's friend, Salvador Burgos, told officers he also had a gun and shot the man. Gonzalez and Burgos fled and then called police.
