AUGUSTA (AP) - Authorities are investigating after an infant was found dead in an east Georgia mobile home park.

The Augusta Chronicle reports (http://bit.ly/HCds2s) that Richmond County sheriff's deputies on Sunday were called to the park, where they found the 5-month-old child dead.

Sheriff's Sgt. Dan Carrier said the home was in "deplorable condition" and the infant had numerous non-human bite marks. Four other children in the home were turned over to child welfare officials.

Authorities say the children's mother, 26-year-old Aileen Wright, was charged with second-degree cruelty to children and four counts of deprivation of a minor. The father of the infant and the 1-year-old, 24-year-old Nicholas Womack, was charged with second-degree cruelty to children and four counts of deprivation of a minor. Jail records do not indicate whether either suspect has an attorney.
