ATHENS, Ga. (AP) — A 15-foot-wide, 8-foot-deep sinkhole in Athens has swallowed an ice machine and the wall of a business.

The Athens Banner-Herald (http://bit.ly/1Jq1zRc ) reports that witnesses heard the sinkhole develop early Tuesday morning. The sinkhole on Baxter Street swallowed an ice machine and one wall at the end of a car wash. No injuries were reported.

By Tuesday afternoon, the owner of the car wash had a crane contractor on the scene working to determine what might be done to stabilize the structure. One end of the building is being held up by a small column of bricks.

County engineering administrator Jerry Oberholtzer said the camera surveys done as of Tuesday afternoon hadn't revealed any collapses of storm sewerage in the area.
