LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. (AP) — Police say one person has been killed and two others have been wounded in a shooting near a suburban Atlanta high school.
Lawrenceville police Capt. Greg Vaughn says authorities are unsure of whether any students from Phoenix High School — which is near the shooting scene — were involved in the incident Monday afternoon.
The victims have not been identified but the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports police are conducting interviews with the surviving victims at the Gwinnett Medical Center.
Gwinnett schools spokeswoman Sloan Roach says the school was placed on a soft lockdown while police investigated the shooting. Roach says police were on hand to help students enter and exit the campus northeast of Atlanta.
No arrests have been made.
