A North Carolina man was killed early this morning when he was ejected from his car on Ga. Highway 212.
Ray Whaley, 46, from Clemons, N.C., was driving his 2008 Honda Civic west on 212 just east of Butler Bridge Road around 2:54 a.m. He attempted to negotiate a curve in the road, traveled off the south side, rotated clockwise and struck a utility pole on the driver's side. Whaley, according to Georgia State Patrol officials, was ejected from the car, which split in half on impact.
According to state patrol officials it appears that speed was a contributing factor in the accident.
